Our Mission

To offer comprehensive psychiatric services at the forefront of science. Through a functional approach, we create thorough treatment plans for each patient instilling confidence and overall well-being.

Martha St. John, MD

Dr. St. John opened her private practice after graduating from residency in 2006.  Over the years, her primary goal has been to provide care to psychiatric patients from Houston and beyond which is both accessible and highly effective. To meet these goals, she has remained steadfast in her commitment to participate in a variety of insurance plans.  She also hired a physician assistant in 2016 in order to help address the growing need for competent care in the community.  

Dr. St John was an early adopter of transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS therapy).  In 2013, she began performing the treatment in order to meet the needs of depressed patients who had failed to become well with traditional antidepressant medication.  
Dr. St John treats adults, ages 18 and up, for a broad range of disorders, but her special interest and expertise is in treatment resistant depression and ADD/ADHD.

Dr. St John is Board Certified psychiatrist and an elected Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association.   She is a member of the Clinical TMS Society and the American Society of Ketamine Physicians.

Dr. St John is a native Houstonian.  She attended Rice University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biochemistry.  She completed her doctorate in medicine and residency training at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.  She lives in West Houston with her husband and three children.

Elizabeth Grizaffi, PA-C

Mrs. Grizzaffi joined St. John Mental Health Clinic of Houston in September 2016. She is nationally board-certified with the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.

She has previous experience in primary care, endocrinology, allergy, and asthma. Elizabeth (Liz) Ann Grizzaffi is a native Houstonian and grew up in the Cy-Fair area. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Saint Mary of the Woods in 2000. Mrs. Grizzaffi went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy in 2007 and then earned her Master of Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas in 2010.

Rachel DeLaCerda

Rachel DeLaCerda has been assisting Dr. St John in treating TMS patients since she joined the practice as our TMS Coordinator in the fall of 2016. Rachel is a certified TMS Technician and patient advocate.

​Rachel assists patient and their family members through the entire TMS process, from scheduling an initial consultation and answering questions about the procedure, to communicating with referring physicians and corresponding with insurance companies.

​Patient’s repeatedly comment on how Rachel’s gentle manner and friendly attitude immediately put them at ease and make the six weeks of treatment especially pleasant.

Susan Brown

Susan Brown joined St. John Mental Health Clinic of Houston in September 2016.  Susan has worked the administrative/management side in the medical field for over 30 years.  She is HIPPA certified and experienced with insurance and scheduling appointment.  She is happy to assist you with any questions you may have.

Daphne McConnell, RN

Daphne started her nursing career in a hospital environment and more specifically on a telemetry unit. She quickly realized she desired a more individualistic approach to her patients and pursued a position in hemodialysis nursing. After a relocation to Houston, Daphne started with our team in the Spring of 2019, bringing her passion and professionalism to our patient care process. She truly cares about her patients and advocates with their best in mind. Daphne quickly builds positive relationships with her patients and ensures their infusion experience is a safe and positive one.

Morgan Lee, RN

 
Morgan Lee joined St. John Mental Health Clinic of Houston in January 2023. She was born and raised just north of Houston and earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Cizik School of Nursing at UTHealth Houston in 2018.
 
She started her nursing career working in a hospital on a neurosurgical and telemetry unit. It wasn’t until Morgan started working at a behavioral health hospital that she found her passion for caring for patients with mental health illnesses, specifically depression/anxiety.

She enjoys providing compassion and support to her patients during difficult times in their lives. During infusions, Morgan strives to maintain a comfortable and enjoyable experience while monitoring and ensuring the safety of her patients.

Kaitlin Amable

Kaitlin has been working in our office since January 2017. She is a certified phlebotomist and trained clinical assistant. Kaitlin assists our nurse with Spravato treatments and insurance authorizations. She also works closely with our patients and receptionist at the front desk.
