I am very pleased with the results from the TMS therapy. I’ve suffered from depression for 20 years and doctors have tried many different antidepressant medication regimens. I have never seen the results I’ve seen with the TMS therapy. I cannot begin to tell you how refreshing it is to finally see the glass half-full. Thank You!”

Our providers are in-network with a variety of insurance plans as a courtesy to our patients. This list does not represent a guarantee of participation. All current and prospective patients are encouraged to contact their insurance carriers to determine whether mental health benefits are managed by a health plan other than the insurance company listed on their card.

  • Aetna
  • Blue Cross Blue Shield
  • Magellan (BCBS HMO policies)
  • Novitas Medicare and Medicare Advantage Plans (Not accepting new patients for medication management)
  • United Healthcare

Our providers are NOT in-network with Cigna or Humana.

We welcome self-pay patients. For patients with out of network benefits, we will provide documentation so those patients can submit for reimbursement from their carriers.

Please call our office directly with questions regarding our providers’ participation in your particular plan, or if you do not see your insurance company listed above. Please have your insurance card on hand when you call.

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) Therapy and Insurance

Most, if not all, insurance carriers in Texas cover TMS Therapy when patients meet their company’s published guidelines for TMS.

If we are unable to obtain authorization from your insurance company to perform TMS in our office and therefore cannot guarantee insurance payment for TMS, we will refer you to a colleague or work with you on payment options.

Please contact our office directly for self-pay pricing.

Insurance companies generally require that patients undergoing treatment with TMS have a diagnosis of Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) and have a history of having tried 1-4 antidepressant medications as well as psychotherapy.

During your 60-minute consultation, Dr. St John will review your psychiatric and medical history, determine whether you are a candidate for the treatment, and determine whether you meet your insurance company’s criteria for obtaining TMS.

When scheduling the consultation, our TMS Coordinator with work with you to execute a release of information request so that Dr. St John has psychiatric records from your current or past psychiatric provider(s) at the time of the consultation.

Our office has extensive experience working with insurance companies to obtain coverage for TMS, even when Dr. St John is out-of-network, and will submit all documentation directly to your insurance company in order to obtain authorization and file claims for TMS Therapy.
